Frage Fumes from heating / diesel smell in heating mode

We have a new Columbus 641 and suffer diesel fumes entering the bed area during the night when the heating is on. Anyone got any ideas how to overcome this - is the boiler something that can be adjusted for combustion?

The windows were all shut, with only the bathroom roof vent open, so sadly not an open window fix.
I wondered if it could be venting up through the gas tank enclosure. Shall be experimenting and investigating when we are not camping, as it’s too much of a faff raising the bed foot just now.
 

I'm late to the party, merry christmas. Check if the exhaust is connected properly, it's not normal to smell exhaust fumes except for aforementioned case: the window just above the exhaust is open.

I suspect there's an exhaust leak, not good. Get this checked out and also while you're at it you might want to invest into a co warning device.

The exhaust is outside the bus, so any leak will not make a differente inside. 
The entrance of the 2 water pipes might not ne sealed properly. 
Other than that it is probably exhaust fumes that enter through normal vent openings - the Bus is not airtight. The gas vent may be one of them, but the gas box should be gastight towards the inside of the bus.

Thanks for the comments.  Took the van back to dealer who realigned the heater exhaust to poke out further from the side of the vehicle and having been away this weekend, good news, no fumes in the bed area although it wasn't as cold (freezing) as when we first experienced this problem.  Fingers crossed, as having a Duvalay topper on the bed makes it so comfortable that we now both enjoy a really good nights sleep in the van.
