Frage Fresh water level indication

Does anyone know the most likely cause of a malfunctioning fresh water level display. Will not display the intermediate bars in the controller display. Have no warning of low level. Also no prior indication of high level and end up overflowing the tank. The fresh water tank icon flashes. Do I need a new level sensor or is it possible that the sensor can be repaired? Where can I purchase a new sensor?

Also, I need instructions on how to remove the level sensor. Does anyone know of an approved Westfalia repair centre?

I also had a malfunction of the fresh water indicator of my Club Joker City (no indication of intermediate levels). When opening the fresh water tank, I discovered a level indicator fully covered with sinter or something similar. I cleaned it with a soft sponge. Since then, it works as it should.
Concerning a Westfalia repair center, I'm from Switzerland and I therefore only know Swiss repair centers.

Hi Dieter, thanks for responding to my post. I am interested to know how you gained access to the sensor to clean it. I am assuming that the layout of my 2016 Club Joker City is the same as yours? Did you remove the sensor or clean it where it was? If you removed it, I would be interested to know what steps you took. Also, I would be appreciate it you could recommend your local Westfalia parts supplier, as I am not having much luck in the UK. Regards, Michael

I cleaned the fresh water level indicator where it was. I felt with my fingers, where the dirt was and cleaned it without any pressure while moving the sensor up and down.
My recommended Westfalia parts supplier is mobycampers.ch. They are the only ones who answered to all my questions.

Hi Dieter,
I assume that you unscrewed the plastic threaded retainer   holding the sensor within the water tank and lifted it up to clean it. Is that correct. I did manage to track down the unit. It is a Barksdale UNS2300. Length 240 mm. I have included a datasheet obtained from the web. Please confirm yours is the same design.

Hi Dieter,
​​​​​​ When you cleaned the sensor did you access it from the drawer above the gas bottle compartment or the cupboard to the left of the gas compartment?
Westfalia have told me to unscrew the defective sensor and screw in a new spare. Unfortunately, the existing sensor seems to be turning round and round without moving upwards.
